Cleansing
Purges | Ambar water
Drunk before ceremony to purify the body and release emotional burden. Done by the river while fasting, Mother Nature transforms our waste into life.

The medicine
Yagé sits at the heart of the work, surrounded by a wider weave of cleansing, prayer and connection. Each is offered with respect for its ancestry, in its purity.
The heart of the work | Ceremony | Master plant
Yagé, or ayahuasca, is a sacred medicine of the Amazon rainforest, a mixture of two native plants: Banisteriopsis caapi and Diplopterys cabrerana.
Its preparation takes place in the jungle, requiring several days of cooking over the heat of the fire grandfather, embraced by the sacred prayers the yagé elders perform for the purpose of healing. Guided respectfully by the taitas who carry the ancient tradition of their peoples, this medicine can bring great clarity, light, harmony and love into your life.
In the traditional Indigenous worldview, yagé can bring with it the spirits of the entire universe, plants, animals, trees and water, healing across many dimensions. It can transform toxins, disease and discomfort into vitality and well-being; free us from past conflicts and negative thought; and connect us with the essence of our spirit and the openness of our hearts.
Because ayahuasca has expanded so rapidly, it matters greatly who serves it. In the Amazon, those licensed to serve yagé undergo training as rigorous and controlled as the licensing of Western surgeons. When you choose where to sit, be well-informed about the people who hold the ceremony.
Respect and conservation
For more than thirty years, ZiruYai has been dedicated to the conservation of the jungle and to weaving the ancestral wisdom of the sacred plants of America with the world.
We care for and respect the ancient tradition of these medicines and ceremonies, for the healing and evolution of humanity, and for the forest where they are born.
